Biography

Jacob Abrahamse is a Canadian tenor praised by Opera Canada as a “gifted tenor” and an “impressive Alfredo” for his work in La traviata. Known for his dynamic stage presence and refined vocal artistry, he performs internationally in opera, oratorio, and concert repertoire.

In the 2025–26 season, he appears with The Dallas Opera in Rachel Portman’s The Little Prince and as a tenor soloist in Haydn’s Die Schöpfung with the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra. Beginning in the 2026–27 season, Jacob Ashton Abrahamse is a member of the Dutch National Opera Studio.

A two-time Apprentice Artist at The Santa Fe Opera, Abrahamse has also appeared with ensembles including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, and the Elmer Iseler Singers.
